I can buy myself flowers

Are you singing that song now

? Yep, me too.

"I can love me better than you can"... powerful words, Miley.

The truth is that most of us don't love ourselves more than we love other people. In fact, often we are downright awful to ourselves. The self-talk, the criticism, and the negative vibes we radiate when we look in the mirror aren't filled with anything close to love. Yet, when we see our gorgeous, talented, successful friends we believe that they must wake up feeling like a million dollars, radiating self-love. Why wouldn't they love themselves...they are gorgeous!

I hope you sense the irony.

Ok, so how do you start to believe those lyrics?

Is it possible for you to learn to love yourself?

Yes. The answer is YES! However, it may take work. Why, because women aren't taught to love themselves, believe in their abilities or celebrate their wins. We are told to be modest, humble, not 'big headed'. To keep the wins quiet and only discuss the struggles.

I know what that's like. I'm originally from the UK - British people are famous for modesty and self-deprecation. It took me a while to get there...to the point where I truly love myself and believe in my abilities. Yes, there are a lot of things I want to learn and grow in over the coming years. I'm not sitting here saying that I love myself 100% every day. But the vast majority of the time I back myself, I know my abilities, love who I am and I put my focus on my strengths.

I work with women every day helping them to do the same. To create a strong mindset, to feel confident in their lives and life purpose. To develop a mindset that works for them. To uncover where their level of self-love is, and how they can elevate their self-worth and continue to believe in themselves!

I want that for you. I want you to sing that song and actually believe the lyrics. If Miley can, you can.
